I specialize my work and focus towards teens and adults. I utilize Person Centered, Humanistic and Psychoanalytic informed approaches with an emphasis on personality exploration and parts work to promote awareness, a more well-rounded sense of self, compassion & positive self-regard. I also include the importance of the basic necessities for a healthy lifestyle such as water, sleep, exercise and nutritious eating. In addition, I am passionate about the power of visual expression and it's reach to the stored unconscious wounds, the narratives memories can dictate, and the unconscious behaviors, habits and patterns we engage in daily. Expression through art, meditation and a compassionate energy and space for healing can help to shift the negative mindset and invite a more open, curious, aware and mindful system of belief and connection to the whole self through a healthy mindset.
My areas of focus include anxiety, control, overthinking & stress driven by perfectionism, identity exploration, social anxiety, life transitions, life purpose, emotional duress and processing fears resulted from trauma or traumatic events. I accentuate the importance of a balanced lifestyle to guide healthy habit forming and self-compassion. I aim to create a unique space and opportunity for individuals of all ages to safely and vividly express, grow and discover who they are and what they need. Art can be a form of communication so Art Therapy allows for what is hard to speak to still be expressed and understood.
Previous Work Experience
During and post grad school, I have accumulated 10 years of work experience including One to One support and Crisis Responder at a private school for Special Needs individuals, Individual and Family Therapist and the Clinical Care Liaison for the Autism Unit at a Private Residential Treatment Facility for boys and a Group Therapist at one of the largest Psychiatric Hospitals on the east coast. Once I relocated to Atlanta, I have had the privilege of working with three exceptional private practices, Peachtree Art Therapy, Art It Out & my current home base as a Co-owner & clinician with Peachtree Creative Counseling.
Why I do what I do!
I found my way to a career in counseling when I was struggling to find practicality for my passion of art and art history. Through a lot of curiousity and a little boredom I stumbled upon Art Therapy. Becoming a counselor introduced a new and enriching opportunity for self-discovery and care that I have greatly benefitted from on such a personal level. This career has not only improved my ability and reach to helping others but has additionally improved my life, purpose and drive. I deeply enjoy the process of supporting self-discovery and unlocking new approaches to this one life we get to have.

In my free time, I find myself enjoying downtime with my husband playing chess and watching movies with our lazy cat Wesley. I also enjoy traveling, being outside and gathering around a fire with family and friends.
