I specialize in working with children and adolescents who may be navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem/self-image, emotional regulation, and changing family dynamics.I work with children to see patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that contribute to their worldview. I specifically utilize Adlerian Play Therapy which allows for a holistic and collaborative approach to healing and understanding the child. This means including parents and teachers in the therapeutic process to ensure a cohesive growth experience. Adlerian uses various techniques such as free play, storytelling, sand tray activities, therapist-directed play, and more.
When working with adolescents, I utilize a person-centered and solution-focused approaches to create a cathartic space for growth and expression. I believe the client is the expert in their lives and strive to work alongside the client to foster positive change. Utilizing creative expressive approaches such as art and play also holds space for the client that does not yet have the words to express their experiences. I believe that creating a genuine therapeutic relationship is imperative to the counseling process. I am currently under supervision with Laura Ladefian LPC, RPT-S, CPCS.
