"Toys are used like words for children and play is their language."

Gary Landreth

Leah specializes in working with children, teens, and young adults and is dedicated to creating a nurturing and understanding space where growth can flourish. Holding a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, she combines her academic knowledge with a genuine passion for helping young people navigate the challenges of growing up. Her approach is deeply rooted in warmth and empathy, fostering an environment where her clients feel heard, validated, and supported as they explore their emotions and develop coping skills.

In addition to her formal education, Leah is also working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist. Recognizing the power of play in communication and healing, she incorporates play-based interventions into her practice to engage her younger clients in a way that feels natural and enjoyable. This playful approach not only helps children and teens express themselves more freely but also fosters creativity and resilience. One of Leah’s key specialties in working with families is incorporating Child Parent Relationship Training (CPRT) into her practice. She firmly believes in the importance of strengthening the bond between children and their parents, recognizing that positive shifts in a child's behavior and emotional well-being often stem from improved parent-child relationships. Through parent coaching, she empowers parents with the tools and strategies they need to support their children effectively.

Above all, Leah values genuine connection on a personal level with her clients. She believes that building a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change and works diligently to establish trust and rapport with each individual she works with. By understanding their unique perspectives and goals, she collaborates with them to create personalized treatment plans that empower them to achieve their full potential and lead fulfilling lives
