Kaylah is an Associate Professional Counselor who specializes in working with children and adolescents. Her experience includes helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, low self-esteem/self-image, emotional regulation, and changing family dynamics. She utilizes adlerian play therapy when working with children, which uses a holistic and collaborative approach to healing and understanding the child. This means including parents and teachers in the therapeutic process to ensure a cohesive growth experience. She works with children to see patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that contribute to their worldview. Adlerian play therapy uses various techniques such as free play, storytelling, sandtray activities, therapist-directed play, and more.
When working with adolescents, Kaylah utilizes a person-centered and solution-focused approach to create a cathartic space for growth and expression. She believes the client is the expert in their lives and strives to work alongside the client to foster positive change. Utilizing creative expressive approaches such as art and play also holds space for the client that does not yet have the words to express their experiences. Kaylah believes that creating a genuine therapeutic relationship is imperative to the counseling process.
